Boneheads is a dog walking and pet sitting service offering a wide range of dog care services in the Midcoast region of Maine, from Camden to South Thomaston. Boneheads is a member of Pet Sitter's International (PSI), a leading association for the industry of pet sitting.

Boneheads dog walking services includes individualized exercise programs and the occasional "bathroom break"

Boneheads pet sitting & cat companion service is a healthy, stress-free alternative to traditional kennels. My services provide for dogs' basic needs such as food, water, bathroom time, and medication. I also provide opportunity for play, socialization and companionship, which are often not met in a kennel situation. Boneheads has full liability coverage for the business.

Pet Sitters International

Welcome to Boneheads!
My name is Evelyn. I live in Rockland Maine, with my husband, Derek and our three Basset hounds, Sam, Isabelle and Winston.
We moved to Rockland in 2006 and immediately fell in love the people, the places and of most of all the animals! Never have I seen a community where people love their animals as deeply as they do in Maine. I knew this is where I wanted to live.
I have always had a special bond with animals and believe they can feel and sense much more than people. With having three Basset hounds for the past 13 years, I understand the importance of patience, routines and companionship. I want to give your fur babies the love and attention that is not always easy to give with a busy schedule. I understand life happens! I want you to feel confident and secure that your loved ones are well taken care.

Benefits of Using a Dog Walker - For your Dog.
  • Regular exercise to ensure good physical and mental health
  • Exercise improves a dog's muscle tone
  • Running and playing can tire a dog so he is less likely to misbehave
  • Important socialization for raising well-adjusted dogs
  • Daily mid-day visits for puppies help maintain a consistent housebreaking schedule
  • Elderly and adult dogs need bathroom breaks too
  • Crate trained puppies need to get out every 3 - 4 hours for proper training and socialization. Over-crating and under exercising can result in a hyperactive, under-socialized dog
  • Walking provides routine practice for using basic commands such as "heel", "sit", "stay", and "come". (Dog walking is NOT a replacement for proper basic obedience training. We only support the dog's established training through repetition.)

Benefits of Using a Dog Walker - For You.
  • A helping hand when you have a busy schedule
  • No guilt at having a busy schedule
  • Adequate exercise can improve a dog's behavior in the home
  • Your dog may actually want to relax WITH you when you come home
  • Relieves your concerns about leaving your dog crated

Benefits of Using a Pet Sitter

  • Dog(s) feel safe and secure in their own environment
  • No worries about kennel cough or other contagious illnesses
  • Personal attention for your dog
  • Smaller animals in your household get care also
  • The house is looked after daily

Mission Statement
It is my desire to help pet owners keep their dogs happy and healthy by providing superior dog care in the form of exercise, interaction, and personalized attention. I believe that a tired dog is a good dog, so it is my goal to give dogs the play and exercise they need which often improves their behavior at home. Puppies, adult dogs, and elderly dogs can all benefit from my services.
